    Object Description

    Knife consists of a metal blade and a carved ivory/bone upper handle. The sheath is made in two pieces - the front is ivory/bone and the back wood - bound together with leather at the top and a telephone wire band at bottom. The ivory finial is carved in the shape of a buffalo standing on the top of a column that becomes a rounded shoulder. There is a star design on the front of this shoulder. The front of the sheath has a small lozenge shaped button with a Zig-zag design, three raised circles and a star design plus another raised circle on the front. There is a strip of leather attached to the back of the sheath with a projecting thong.
