Jennifer Mokakabye has over nine years’ experience in the heritage sector. Previously employed by several consulting companies, she is highly experienced with the process of heritage assessment, archaeological mitigation, grave relocations, rescue excavation and the application of the NHRA section.
She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Sciences degree, Bachelor of Arts Honors in Archaeology (Cum-laud) and Master of Arts in Ethnology-Archaeology, all of which were obtained from the University of Venda. Jennifer also completed various short courses such as Forensic Anthropology and Archaeology from Durham University (2020), How to do Archaeology from Dig Ventures (2020) and Heritage Resource Management course with the University of Cape Town (2021).
She is a published author of over ten peer-reviewed articles and a chapter in a book. She is a professional member of the Association of Southern African Archaeologist (ASAPA) and accredited by the association’s Cultural Resources Management (CRM). Jennifer is also affiliated with AMAFA as a professional heritage specialist and is a member of the South African Archaeologist Society, KZN region
