    Massospondylus carinatus is a species of sauropodomorph dinosaur commonly found in the Elliot Formation of the Eastern Cape, Free State, KZN and Lesotho. In this case the permit refers to 73 partial specimens of this species in the collections of the University of the Witwatersrand (see attachment for specimen numbers).

    The fossils comprise a set of partial limb bones, including: proximal and distal femora, tibiae, radii, and humeri. Each has distinctive morphology allowing referral to these specific bones and allowing referral to the object.
