Proposal Description

I am applying to export a 5gm sample of sand from the archaeological site of Montagu Cave in the Cape Provence to the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig, Germany. The objective is to look at the nature of the quartz grains in order to assess the feasibility of future procurement of samples for OSL and VSL dating of the site i.e. if the sand is not suitable we will not be taking further samples. The sample is for reconnaissance purposes only. This application is for a locality in the Western Cape Provence.
