Proposal Description
The proposed activity entails the establishment of two material sources for the upgrading of the R335 road between Motherwell and Addo, located within the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and Sundays River Valley Local Municipality, Eastern Cape. The road upgrading works will require the sourcing of material (rock and gravel) from the surrounding areas, for use in construction as bedding, backfill and layer works material. The material required, for the various pavement layers to upgrade the R335, will be sourced from cuttings within the road prism and borrow pits.
The said application is thus for the establishment of two (2) new material sources, hereinafter referred to as Borrow Pit 2 and Borrow Pit 3, as follows:
