Mandeni Cemetery Development

The Applicant (Mandeni Local Municipality) proposes to develop a cemetery within the Mandeni Local Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal. The Applicant proposed four alternative sites for the proposed cemetery and following the screening process (desktop and field assessment specialist studies) of the 4 sites, one site was selected the preferred and forms the focus of this application.
The preferred site is approximately hectares (Ha) in extent and will trigger activities within Listing Notice 1 of the EIA Regulations, 2014 (as amended in 2017) and is subject to an Application for Environmental Authorisation.
