    Proposal Description
Wind Relic (Pty) Ltd is proposing the development of a 400kV Main Transmission Substation (MTS) and two 400kV loop-in loop-out power lines on Farm 434 and Portion 3 of the Farm Driefontein 259, located approximately 36km south of Cookhouse and 35km north-west of Riebeek East (measured from the centre of the site) within the Blue Crane Route Local Municipality and the Sarah Baartman District Municipality in the Eastern Cape Province. The entire extent of the site falls within the Eastern Corridor of the Strategic Transmission Corridors.

The development of the 400kV MTS and 400kV power lines is required to enable the connection of four wind farms and two solar farms (a total of up to 1300MW) to the national grid for the evacuation of the generated electricity. The connection points into the national grid will be the existing Poseidon-Grassridge No.2 400kV power line and the existing Poseidon – Dedisa No.1 400kV power line, which both run approximately 600m to the east of the proposed MTS site.
