Henlie Boerdery is proposing the construction of a cattle feedlot with the capacity to hold up to 5 000 cattle on Remaining extent of the farm Mooilaagte 916 JP, situated in the Lichtenburg District within Ditsobotla Local Municipality area. The study area is located 26km north-west of Koster in the Northwest Province within the Kgetlengivier Local Municipality and Bojanala Platinum District Municipality (Appendix A). More specifically it is Remaining extent of the farm Mooilaagte 916 JP, situated in the Lichtenburg District within Ditsobotla Local Municipality area at 25º54’44.1” S; 27º37’41.3” E (Appendix A). The activity will entail the construction of 10 camps (80m x 100m), divide into 2 sites of 5 camps on each site. Each camp will have the capacity for 500 cattle. The entire site will be able to house up to 5 000 cattle.
The project will entail the following:
• Earthworks and clearing of vegetation on the site for erection of infrastructure (pens, hallways, road and parking lot).
• The construction of 10 camps (80m x 100m), each with a capacity to hold 500 head of cattle.
• All camps will have feeding and water troughs.
