Welgedacht Balloon Siding EA Application

Canyon Resources (Pty) Ltd. (Canyon) is in the process of applying for an Integrated Environmental Authorisation in terms of Regulations GNR. 983, 984, and 985, published in Gazette no. 38282 of 14 December 2014 (Listing Notices 1, 2 and 3) (amended in 2021), under the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), as amended, and the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 (Act No. 56 0f 2008) for the proposed Welgedacht Balloon Siding and associated conveyor belt (located on Portion 19 of the farm Palmietkuilen 241IR). The siding is to be situated on Portions 10, 32, 51, 55, and 57 of the farm Geigerle 238 IR; and Portions 9 and 19 of the farm Palmietkuilen 241 IR within the Gauteng Province.
Notice is furthermore hereby given in terms of Section 40 of the National Water Act (NWA), 1998 (Act No. 36 of 1998), that Canyon proposes to lodge an application for various water uses listed under Section 21 (Section 21 a, b, c, g, and i) of the NWA.
