Synchrotron scanning of a possile Triassic gorgonopsian

This project is related to case 17580. It is an application for specimen NMQR 389 of Cynosaurus sp to be exported along with other specimens of putative Triassic gorgonopsians to be CT scanned at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility. The specimen will be hand-carried by the applicant on the 15 January 2022 and will be brought back on the 15 January 2023. Synchrotron scanning is warranted as local CT facilities did not produce satisfying contrast on this relatively large specimen. A higher energy beam is required to achieve good contrast and sufficient resolution.
