Mbere Complex: foragers and farmers sharing space

The Mbere Complex holds exceptional potential in terms of exploring forager-farmer relations because it has a shelter with known forager archaeology and a settlement outside that belongs to the AD 1000 to 1220 period that we are interested in because it relates to the rise of Mapungubwe. We would like to request permission to excavate the site in order to explore these complex sets of interactions in the build-up to the Mapungubwe capital.
