dates the inception of the University College of Zululand as 8 May 1961 with 42 students.
Thus UniZulu will be 62 years in existence on 8 May 2022. However, no records of when
the 160 bed Madiba Residence and ancillary services on the proposed 39365 ha on erf 15829 was constructed could be found.
Also , it would be unlikely that a institution which was founded with 42 students would
require a 160 bed residence within the first 3 years of existence and thus
it is doubtful that the structures in question is older than 60 year. None of the structures are listed under the SPECIAL PROTECTED RESOURCES
