Upgrade of Leachville Ext 2 Sewer Pump Station, Brakpan, Gauteng Province

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality proposes to upgrade the existing Leachville Sewer Pump Station on Erf 374 in Leachville Extension 2, next to the New Kleinfontein Road (M56) near Benoni town (Co-ordinates:26° 13’27.73 ̎ S; 28° 19’51.30 ̎ E). The upgrade will include the construction of a new pump station next to the existing one and formalising the access road and T-junction along the New Kleinfontein Road. Certain 110mm sewer midblock pipes in Leacvhille will also be replaced with 160mm pipes to accommodate higher flows. The new pump station will be 950m2 in extent and have a design capacity of 88 litres/second. The existing pump station will operate until the new station is commissioned.
