MP 30/5/1/2/3/2/1 (10026) EM,Rooipan Catchment Project, Mafube Coal Mining (Pty) Ltd

Mafube Coal Mining (Pty) Ltd (Mafube Colliery) is applying for an Integrated Environmental Authorisation (IEA) in order to extend its existing Nooitgedacht Coal Reserve to include the Rooipan Catchment Project, which requires an Environmental Authorisation in terms Sections 24 (5) and Section 44 of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA) and a Waste Management Licence (WML) for waste management activities in terms of Section 20(b) and Section 45 of the National Environmental Management Waste Act, 2008 (Act No. 59 of 2008) (NEMWA). Both legislations are read together with Regulations 21, 22, 23 & 24 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2017 (Government Notice R 982) (EIA Regulations).
