Request for permit to excavate at LRC4, Mpumalanga

Previously, I identified LRC4, a Later Stone Age site, as key understanding the prehistory of hunter-gatherer communities and their interactions with others in central Mpumalanga (Maseko 2021). My current project continues from this previous research, and I aim to excavate LRC4, among other sites in the region, to test previous hypotheses. Surface scatters of material culture at the site indicate a mix of activities, involving hunter-gatherers and newcomer groups. The site, thus, carries potential to offer insight on Mpumalanga hunter-gatherers' relations with others.

The site is located in a private property in central Mpumalanga.
