THE PROPOSED DWAALBOOM SOLAR 5 PHOTOVOLTAIC SOLAR ENERGY FACILITY AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE NEAR NORTHAM, LIMPOPO PROVINCE

Dwaalboom Solar 5 (Pty) Ltd is proposing the construction of a photovoltaic (PV) solar facility on surrounding properties located within the Thabazimbi Local Municipality within the Waterberg District Municipality. The project is proposed as part of a cluster of four other projects, including Dwaalboom Solar 1, Dwaalboom Solar 2, Dwaalboom Solar 3 and Dwaalboom Solar 4. The proposed development is located on the Remaining Extent of the Farm Goevernements Plaats No. 417 and Portion 2 of the Farm Goevernements Plaats No. 417 approximately 4.5 km north east of the town of Northam in the Limpopo Province. The solar PV facility will comprise several arrays of PV panels and associated infrastructure and will have a contracted capacity of up to 125 MW. The site is accessible directly of the R510 Regional Road. The proposed Dwaalboom Solar 5 will cover approximately 250 ha.
