Proposal Description
The Proposed Project is located in Ntuzuma in the central eastern region of KwaZulu-Natal approximately 27km northwest of
Durban Central Business District (CBD). It is located along Dlamahlahla Street. Access to the site is off Dumisane Makhaye
Highway into Khangela Street then Dukuza Street and Mzungulu Road. It is bounded to the north by Mandlenkosi High School,
to the west by Vumukholo Lutheran Church and to the south by Dlamahlahla Street.
The intended project will involve the provision of medium density 3 storey walk-up/flats and municipal services for
approximately 198 residential units. This will include the development of associated services infrastructure including roads,
sanitation and stormwater. The development site is located within a significantly disturbed and transformed landscape
characterized by a fairly variable topography ranging from moderately to steeply sloping.
The project objective is to provide a long-term solution to housing challenges experienced in the area, and to accommodate the
excess families living on the adjacent parcel of land. Alternate high density housing types will be used for the development to
attain higher yields and provide further housing to those that currently do not have houses.
