REDUNDANT ASSET - An identical locomotive of this class - Locomotive 25 NC # 3410 is preserved at the Bloemfontein Locomotive depot and forms part of the Transnet Collection. Another 12 of the same class is on loan to various steam clubs.The history of this class is captured in two publications " locomotives of the South African railways" by Leith Paxton and David bourne and " Railways of Southern Africa 150 years by Jean Dulez. A copy of both publications are available at the museum for reference purposes. Locomotive drawings (plans) and other information relating to this class are in safe custody at the Transnet Heritage Library. Compliance to the NHRA will form part of the condition of sale.
