Further Requirements:
Revised drawings are required to show the additions set back off the front veranda. This includes the omission of the ancillary unit and the enclosure of the veranda with minimal framing set back on a 220mm width upstand. The revised drawing must only cover the proposed work. Any work that has already been started or is complete must be shown on a separate drawing.
Form I application and separate drawings showing the unauthorised work that has been carried out. This application may be uploaded to the same case on Sahris together with the current fee of R4000.00. It was noted that the Google Street View from 2017 showed the underfloor vents below the veranda as open. Photographs attached to the application showed those vents as closed. It is advisable that they be re-opened in order to allow the walls to within the cavity to be ventilated, preventing rising damp and subsequent structural damage to the walls supporting the veranda, stairs and the outer wall of the house itself. The illegal closing of these vents and any others that have been closed should be shown on the drawing with a note to indicate that the vents will be reopened. The re-opening of the vents must be shown on the proposed work drawing.
Photographs of all elevations of the house and all areas that are to be altered or have been altered are required to be uploaded to the case.
It is trusted that the above clarifies the previous requirements.
