FURTHER REQUIREMENTS
The applicant was required to submit proof of public participation for the change of use if that is required by the municipality. The adjoining neighbours and those across the road must be consulted. If consultation is to be done through the municipal town planning processes, the heritage process can be run concurrently with the municipal process (see guidelines for the public consultation process on the website).
Previously approved drawings were required. If work had been undertaken without prior approval after the building had turned 60 years of age, a Rectification Application on Form I was required, along with the fee of R4000.00 and drawings depicting the unlawful work.
Clarification on the impact that the parapet walls would have on the roof was required.
