Please be advised as follows:-
(1) The Institute was unable to consider the merits of the application as the work had already commenced, alternatively, has been completed;
(2) As a result, a permit cannot now be issued;
(3) We would like to draw your attention to the fact that your failure to obtain a permit prior¬ to the commencement of the work, is in contravention of the provisions of the KwaZulu-Natal Amafa and Research Institute Act (5 of 2018), and as such is a criminal offence for which you may be prosecuted;
(4) However, the Institute has decided to condone your failure to obtain a permit, as required, on condition that the work was conducted strictly in accordance with MN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNS (M.NARRANDES) drawing numbers WR-IH-01, -02, 03, 04, -05, -06, & -07 (drawn by L.R.), dated 20/10/2020 , received by the Institute on 27 October 2021 and the 12 November 2021. This approval is conditional on the following: that the landscaping plan is submitted for review within a year of this approval; that the existing buildings are repaired under the separate permit issued and that work must commence and run concurrently to the development; final compliance will be issued on completion of the repair work to the existing buildings, including landscaping to shield the new development from the existing buildings; the existing structures, particularly the bunker, must be protected from damage at all times during construction.
(5) Prior written approval from the Institute is required for any deviation to the approved plans.
(6) No legal action will be instituted against you in this instance.
