CommentNo heritage resources were identified on the property and based on the submitted information, it is unlikely that the proposed development will impact on significant heritage resources. However, insufficient information was provided for SAHRA to be able to issue a comprehensive comment on the proposed developmentAs such, SAHRA requires the following;- Detailed information on the nature and extent of the proposed development, including the infrastructure required for the proposed mine. This can be submitted to SAHRA via SAHRIS in the form of the Final EMP to be submitted to the DMR for approval. As the archaeological and palaeontological material in this area is of low heritage sensitivity, the SAHRA Archaeology, Palaeontology and Meteorites Unit has no objection to the development on condition that, if any new evidence of archaeological sites or artefacts, palaeontological fossils, graves or other heritage resources is found during development, construction or mining, SAHRA and an archaeologist and/or palaeontologist, depending on the nature of the finds, must be alerted immediately and work must cease until a way forward is agreed upon.
