Final CommentSAHRA has no objection to the proposed prospecting on condition that;- The developer and the ECO must be made aware of the possible presence of “Stromatolites” in the pre-Kalahari Formations and if recorded in future drilling operations, a palaeontologist must be informed and appropriate actions taken in the event of future mining of the stratigraphic units.- The identified historical sites (DIB 1, DIB 8 and WES 1) must be demarcated as No-Go areas with a 20m buffer for prospecting activities.- The identified cemeteries (DIB 2, DIB 7 and WES 2) must be demarcated as No-Go areas with a 20m buffer for prospecting activities.- The identified archaeological sites (DIB 3, DIB 4, DIB 5, DIB 6, DIB 9, DIB 10, DIB 11, DIB 12, WES 3, WES 4, WES 5, WES 7 and WES 7) must be demarcated as No-Go areas with a 20m buffer for prospecting activities.Should any new evidence of archaeological sites or artefacts, palaeontological fossils, graves or other heritage resources is found during development, construction or mining, SAHRA and an archaeologist and/or palaeontologist, depending on the nature of the finds, must be alerted immediately.Should a mining application result from these prospecting activites, a new heritage assessment must be completed and submitted to SAHRA and the location of the identified heritage resources must be taken into consideration.
