Recommendations: SAHRA has no objection to the proposed development of the WEF in terms of the archaeological and palaeontological components of the heritage resources. The following recommendations must be implemented: 

The widening of the current access route from the N14 is not supported as this will impact on graves and the Namies Village ruins. SAHRA supports the recommendation of diverting the road south or using one of the two proposed access roads. If this is not feasible SAHRA must be informed in writing and further recommendations will be made. 
The Draft EMPr report must be updated to include a protocol for palaeontological finds.
Decisions in terms of Built Environment must be referred to the Northern Cape Provincial Heritage Authority (Mr Ratha Timothy, [email protected]
