Interim Comment
The SAHRA Archaeology, Palaeontology and Meteorites (APM) Unit requests that an assessment of the impact of the development on palaeontological resources is undertaken by a qualified palaeontologist. The report must comply with the SAHRA 2012 Minimum Standards: Palaeontological Component of Heritage Impact Assessments. The 2012 Minimum Standards makes reference to a Letter of Recommendation for Exemption that is to be submitted if there is no likelihood that palaeontological material will be impacted. The appointed palaeontologist may choose to submit such a letter should they deem it appropriate.
Further comments will be issued upon receipt of the above.
