Interim Comment
SAHRA does not accept the desktop HIA. A field-based HIA that assesses the proposed drilling positions must be conducted as part of the EA process.
SAHRA advises the applicant to apply for an extension of the EA process in terms of section 19(1)b of the NEMA EIA Regulations in order to address this comment and to ensure that SAHRA comments are included in the Final BAR to be submitted for decision making.
Further comments will be issued upon receipt of a field-based HIA.
