Interim CommentThe SAHRA Archaeology, Palaeontology and Meteorites (APM) Unit notes the submission of the HIA report however, no other documentation that details the proposed development has been uploaded to the case. If this application is undergoing an environmental authorisation then these documents must be uploaded to the case as SAHRA is a commenting authority and requires the submission of all documents pertaining to the proposed development. The development must be mapped on the SAHRIS palaeomap, the simplest way to do so is to upload a .kml file onto the palaeo-sensitivity section of the case. Once this has been done, the level of palaeontological sensitivity of the development area must be assessed on the palaeontological sensitivity map. Depending on the colour coding a suitably qualified palaeontologist must be appointed to undertake a palaeontological impact assessment. A report of this assessment must be submitted to SAHRA for commenting.SAHRA will comment further once the requested documents and reports are submitted to the case.
