SAHRA has no objection to the proposed construction of a temporary roof over the 2nd floor of Old Assembly that was destroyed by fire, as it is a safety measure from future extreme weather conditions and allows for further investigations to take place. As this intervention is temporary, the heritage fabric will not permanently lose it's integrity.
