Interim Comment
The SAHRA Archaeology, Palaeontology and Meteorites (APM) Unit requests that an updated assessment of the impact to heritage resources be conducted as part of the application to extend the validity of the EA. This must include a verification field survey of the impact areas to ensure that all heritage resources have been assessed. The HIA must include a palaeontological component.
The statement provided by the specialist does not provide SAHRA with enough up-to-date information regarding the impact to heritage resources in order to make an informed comment. Further comments will be issued upon receipt of the above requested report.
