Interim CommentThe SAHRA Archaeology, Palaeontology and Meteorite (APM) Unit notes the Heritage Screener Report along with the recommendations provided therein. As the proposed development area is mostly of very high sensitivity in terms of palaeontological resources as per the SAHRIS PalaeoSensitivity map, a field-based Palaeontological Impact Assessment (PIA) must be undertaken and the report must comply with the 2012 Minimum Standards: Palaeontological Components of Heritage Impact Assessments.Further comments will be issued once the Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) report inclusive of the AIA and PIA component, has been submitted to the case on SAHRIS along with the Draft EIA document and its appendices.
