SAHRA requests that the HIA be revised to provide a significance assessment of all the identified sites and details regarding the identified graves.
Additionally, the recommended census/audit of burials within the development area must occur as part of the EA application as per section 38(3)e of the NHRA. All details regarding burial grounds protected by the NHRA must be included in the revised HIA.
No construction may commence without the above information. SAHRA will provide further comments upon receipt of the above information.
