Statement of Significance

Site C1 constitutes a contemporary cultural heritage resource post-dating 60 years of age and by implication not formally protected under the NHRA 1999. A SAHRA site significance rating is not applicable to the site. Extension of the Koedoeskloof landfill site will require destruction of the site; destruction is not subject to SAHRA application or approval.
