Statement of Significance

The Florisbad fossil locality is internationally known for producing a pre-modern human skull, Middle Pleistocene fossil vertebrates and Middle Stone Age artefacts. The fossil vertebrate collection from the Florisbad spring is the type assemblage of the Florisian.
