Statement of Significance

This property represents the largest remaining extent of land in the Table valley associated with an early grant. The Eighteenth Century homestead, unaltered since "Georgianisation" in the midNineteenth Century is one of the few surviving examples of the many early Cape Dutch residences associated with the original prosperous farms in the valley. The homestead, hostels and amphitheatre form an imposing complex.
