Destructive sampling and export of sorghum and millets (RAINDROPS Project)

We are applying for the destructive sampling of archaeological plant remains from the Iron Age site of Schroda and Mutamba, located in the Limpopo Province. These remains will be included in the RAINDROPS Project, which is a European Research Council funded project focused on past water management practices for drought-resistant crops. The project has identified sorghum and pearl millet from Mutamba, and pearl millet from Schroda as ideal samples from dryland areas to include in the larger study.
