Construction of Mamba Gravel Road and Causeway

The proposed site is located 55 km West of Eshowe town, where the main administrative centre for the uMlalazi Local Municipality (ULM) is situated. Mamba Gravel Road provides a vital link between District Road 1544 and Provincial Road 218. The proposed project involves the construction of 3.679km of Mamba Road and Causeway (km0.998) for the uMlalazi Local Municipality. The development corridor is 3.679 km from the start of the district road 1544. Mamba Road begins at KM 17.75 of D1544 and ends at a junction with P218. The road is recommended to be designed and constructed as per a Type 7A Local Road (2.5m lane widths) with adequate drainage.
