AMENDMENT OF KIEPERSOL COLLIERY’S MINING RIGHT TO INCLUDE THE NEW CENTRAL ADIT COMPLEX

Jindal Mining SA (Pty) Ltd, part of Jindal Africa, owns and operates Kiepersol Colliery, an underground (board and pillar) mine, that produces anthracite coal from the Alfred and Dundas seams. Jindal plans to develop a New Central Adit Complex that will allow for the exploitation of coal reserves from the central Dundas and Alfred seams to extend the Life of Mine (LoM). The location of the proposed adit is in Kiepersol Colliery’s existing Mining Right Area (MRA), between the Central Alfred shaft and West Alfred shaft. The establishment of the adit will involve the clearing of vegetation, soil stripping and stockpiling and removal of overburden to expose the coal.
