PROPOSED ADDITIONS AND ALTERATIONS AT MALVERN STATION ON SUB 1275 (OF 1) OF THE FARM BELLAIR NO.823 BEING AT MALVERN STATION, DURBAN.

We acknowledge receipt of your application for a permit to carry out work on the above property on the 6th of December 2023.

Please be advised has follows: -

  1. More clarity is needed regarding the amount of direct intervention especially regarding door and window changes as well as the impact it will have on the heritage worthiness of the building.
  2. Close-up photos are needed of the brick work around doors and windows, and new interventions must be considered that will have less impact on, especially the front façade of the building.
  3. Please submit new plans where less impact is applicable.

Written responses/requests for review of the decision taken must be received via email [email protected] within 30 days of the date of this letter or any decision contained herein will be considered final.

Extensions of 30 days may be requested; if additional information is needed or revised drawings, these documents must be submitted within 6 months of the date of this letter or the application will lapse and a new application and fee to be paid, is necessary.

If public participation is necessary, the applicant will be notified of the level of public participation necessary: For development and demolition applications the neighbours, ward councillor and heritage societies must be contacted. Owners and residents within 100m must be consulted for demolition applications. All documents submitted is retained for record purposes and interested and affected parties may apply to view the applications.
