The Proposed Viviers Solar Park and Associated Infrastructure near Alldays, Limpopo Province

Sturdee Energy is proposing the development of a photovoltaic (PV) solar park, the Viviers Solar Park, located within the Blouberg Local Municipality and larger Capricorn District Municipality, Limpopo Province

The proposed development is located on the Farm Viviers No. 291, Registration Division MS. The town of Alldays is located approximately 21 km southwest of the proposed development. The solar PV facility will comprise several arrays of PV panels and associated infrastructure and will have a contracted capacity of up to 500 MW. An area of approximately ~1000 hectares is under assessment for development.
The Viviers Solar Park will include the following infrastructure:

» PV modules and mounting structures.
» Inverters and transformers.
» Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
» Site and internal access roads.
» Operation and Maintenance buildings including a gate house and security building, control centre, offices, warehouses and workshops for storage and maintenance.
» Temporary and permanent laydown area.
» Facility grid connection infrastructure, including:
• Cabling and/or powerlines between the project components and the substations
• On-site facility substations
