Prometheus Solar Power Plant near Port Nolloth, Northern Cape Province

The activities entail the development of an up to
250MW photovoltaic solar facility, Battery Energy
Storage System (BESS) and associated
infrastructure on the farm Kannikwa No. 156,
Registration Division Namaqualand, situated within
the Richtersveld Local Municipality area of
jurisdiction. The town of Port Nolloth is located
approximately ~17 km west of the proposed
development (refer to the attached locality maps).
The project entails the generation of up to 250MW
electrical power through photovoltaic (PV) panels
and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The total
footprint of the project will be approximately 3754
hectares (including supporting infrastructure on
site) with a developable area of approximately 547
hectares. The property on which the facility is to be
constructed will be leased by Prometheus Solar
Power Plant (RF) (Pty) Ltd from the property owner,
for the lifespan of the project (minimum of 20
years)
