Expansion of the Bioremediation Facility at Sishen Mine

Proposed expansion of the existing bioremediation facility for the treatment of hydrocarbon-contaminated soil. The proposed expanded facility will cover approximately 1.1 hectares and is located is located within the Sishen Mine boundary on the Farm Sishen 543, Gamagara Local Municipality, Northern Cape Province. The site is located within the active mining area that has been disturbed and modified by past and current mining activities. Due to this highly modified state, no site-specific specialist studies were undertaken.
