Proposal Description
It is the intention of LWUA to establish a Solar PV Plant with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in support of providing solar power to the Flag Boshielo pump station to be constructed.
Two proposed alternatives are being assessed. Placing solar on top of the Flag Boshielo Dam which will be considered “floating solar” for an area of approximately 20 ha (81 ha has been earmarked of which only approximately
20 ha will be used), or a solar farm on land of approximately 15 ha.
