LNBG Geological Garden and Trail Proposal

Mpumalanga, as well as the Lowveld Garden, has a rich geological history. With some of the oldest rock formations in the world found in the province, as well as the Garden itself, it is the ideal locality to develop a geological theme garden and accompanying trail.

The theme garden will feature general geological information and rock specimens found in the province, which will each be interpreted individually. The Geological Garden will be linked to a Geological Trail, which will feature prominent rock formations and geological processes throughout the Garden.
