Proposed Ngqamakhwe Stormwater Bridge

Indwe Environmental Consulting have been appointed by HSC Consulting, on behalf of Mnquma Local Municipality, to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment for the proposed upgrade to a low-lying culvert bridge in Ngqamakhwe, Eastern Cape. The current culvert-bridge is an Earth filled bridge with a 600mm diameter pipe in line with the watercourse conveying stormwater discharge. The upgrade would include the installation of a formalised two-culvert bridge and lifting the bridge approaches slightly to accommodate an engineered bridge.
The culvert will be located along a connecting road between two parts of the town.
The culvert will be 10m x 8m in size.
