Nossa Senhora Atalaia do Pinheiro: Maritime archaeological investigation

The study of shipwreck survivor campsites is a neglected terrestrial component of maritime archaeology, and methodical archaeological survivor campsite research is still sorely lacking in South Africa. This research intends to conduct a systematic archaeological excavation and investigation of the survivor campsite of the Nossa Senhora Atalaia do Pinheiro, located in East London. This research will be done for the purpose of my PhD.
