Proposal Description
The KwaZulu Natal Department of Transport has proposed to upgrade road P113 from kilometer 28.3 to kilometer 34.06 in several phases from gravel to blacktop standards. The project is located in Inhlamvini in the Highflats. As part of the upgrade, the KZN Department of Transport will also upgrade a pipe culvert within a watercourse (wetland).
The upgrade of the road will follow the existing road alignment and will be within the road reserve. The road upgrade does not trigger any NEMA-listed activities. However, the upgrade of Culvert within the watercourse does trigger the NEMA-listed activities. The project applicant is applying for Environmental Authorization as well as a Water Use License.
