    Proposal Description
Lugeko (Pty) Ltd intends to mine the above area (including existing quarry) through opencast mining where the sand/gravel/aggregate will be removed with an excavator or frond end loader onto the tipper trucks and taken to the processing area. Sand will be hauled off site without any processing required. The gravel/aggregate will be put through a Jaw Crusher and further sized through a sizing screen. The product will be stockpiled in different size stockpiles from where it will be transported to the clients. The crushed product will be stockpiled on site from where it will be hauled to the clients on demand. The total estimated reserve of sand is estimated at ±100’000m3 in-situ and the gravel/aggregate are estimated at ±500’000m3 in-situ. Taken at a production rate of 500m3/month for sand and 10’000m3/month for gravel/aggregate it will take more than 2 years (24 months) to work out this reserve. It is also foreseen that this period ‎can be longer as the ‎estimate reserve for the sand can be ‎mined for up to ±5 years and the ‎gravel/aggregate for ±16 ‎years
