    Proposal Description
Baobab Diamond Mining (Pty) Ltd is applying for a mining permit of Diamonds Alluvial and Diamonds Kimberlite Near the town of Alldays on a certain portion of 5 hectares on the Remaining Extent of the Farm Cliffdale 297 MS within the Magisterial District of Makhado, Limpopo Province. Baobab Diamond Mine will involve mining of Diamond (DIA), Diamond (Alluvial-DA), Diamond (General-D), Diamond (In Kimberlite), Aggregate (RM), Dimension Stone (M-General), and Clay (general) mineral deposits in the area.
Cliffdale is situated within an anorthositic intrusive ring, the centre of the ring and outside of it consist of the Alldays Gneiss dated approximately 2.55 billion years. The kimberlite has intruded the ring and is therefore younger in age. The Alldays kimberlite province has been dated at 500 million years and therefore the Cliffdale kimberlite is most likely of that age as well. A characteristic of the kimberlites occurring close to the surface in this area is that the vegetation tends to be sparser than the surrounding bush.
