Proposal Description
It is proposed to provide treated wastewater from the Bloemspruit WWTW for the irrigation of sports fields of Grey College, University of the Free State (UFS), Free State Cricket Union and the Free State Rugby Union in Bloemfontein. The project includes refurbishment work at the Bloemspruit WWTW to further disinfect the treated wastewater, as well as the construction of a 200mm diameter pipeline from the Bloemspruit WWTW to relevant sports fields . The approximate length of the pipeline will be 3.1km through the built up area of Bloemfontein. Environmental Authorisation is not required for the proposed pipeline.
