Proposal Description
South Africa Mainstream Renewable Power Developments (Pty) Ltd (Mainstream) proposes to develop the Nalithuba Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Facility (SEF) approximately 13 km east-south-east of the town of Thuthukani in the Lekwa Local Municipality (LLM) of the Gert Sibande District Municipality (GSDM) in the Mpumalanga Province. The Nalithuba SEF is being developed on land awarded by Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd (Eskom) to develop renewable energy projects in response to the energy crisis that South Africa is currently facing. The aim of this development is to generate renewable energy to feed into the national grid. The proposed SEF is to be developed on Portions 5 and 6 of Farm Uitkyk 377.
